This low budget index project started 8 years ago, with minimal knowlegde and support. The idea was to convince media platforms that creating an index is too important to leave it to your opponents, the Big Mainstream Internet Services. Although it was never ment to be an working service,..... it worked!
More then 1.2 million articles are indexed and many users have found them with search patterns.
More then 4,500 of those articles are selected and translated in Dutch, for archiving in the openbaararchief.nl (10 subarchives).
We are still convinced however that the free journalists communities should take it over and do it more professionally

This search index of 70 invaluable news, analysis an opinion sites is vital since the traditional search indexes (Google, Yahoo, Bing and their many proxies) are hiding those sources in their indexes. With those mainstream search services you will just find the publications of mainstream media and controlled 'alernative media', that's it, nothing more then that. All proxy services as DuckDuckGo, SearchX, Quant, Startpage,.... are basically copying that.
This Alterlook search is additional: It doesn't intent to replace the immense indexes of those big ones. It just indexes the 70+ censored but indispendable information sources, to find the information that the Big Index services are intentionally hiding for you. There is no 'smart' algorithm - just complete indexes and a simpel search tool. (Get a smarter search result, by typing more words and options - up to 10 keywords).

Search Services

Since the early developments of the Internet, a few organisations indexed the content on it and offered a web application for searching in their index

This approach has never been open and transparent, focused on the lucrative marketing profits, and the small ones were eaten by big transnational corporations. Only a few of them survived. (and some proxies that claim to provide more privacy)
These big players, owned by banks and investors, have commercial and idiologic intentions and, as a result, their search-results prioritize certain sources.

Some publishers whose viewpoints differ from the mainstream media narrative are hardly listed in these search-results. Their publications, framed as fake news , are held back or ranked low by the smart algorithm of google, yahoo, bing and youtube (Also see the Veritas Investigations [undercover video] ).

This Index

This index intents to make it more complete, by adding some essential sources, that are black listed by the mainstream search services. The publishers that are listed here on the left pane have, active or passive, contributed to this Index, to enable you to find the publications on their websites.

Information that you really can't find, unless you know exactly on which internet address it is published and type that 'url' in the adress bar of your web browser, which very few will do; The average internet user might not even know how to do that. They instead rely on the 'assistance' of Mainstream Internet Services, without realizing, that their algorithms will only suggest webpages from controlled media sources

You are welcome to use this index as your 1st source of information, as a 2nd opinion to the mainstream narrative or as an introduction to the various alternative information sources
